Please use the dedicated ticketing systems to pay for your travel.
Use a ticket machine (large boxes that look like arcade machines) to purchase rail credit using emeralds.
You can check your rail credit balance with a blue enquiry processor.
These facilities are available at every station in some form.
Entry and exit of stations
All of our stations are equipped with ticket barriers. Simply follow the arrows and walk through. 1 rail credit will be charged.
You do not have to exit and reenter stations you are transiting through.
The old yellow ticket processor tap on/tap off system is no longer in use at any station on our network.
Emeralds and rail credits
For those who are unable to pay the fare for whatever reason, you may collect free emeralds, which you can use to buy rail credit, from any of the Ticket Offices listed below. Please note that government restrictions forbid any other companies, organisations or persons from collecting emeralds as currency. Emeralds have no monetary value outside of transport ticketing systems.
An exit ticket barrier may incorrectly fine you 500 rail credits if you walk backwards just as you pass through the barrier (meaning you would have to intentionally stop holding W and start holding S at the exact right time), which is counted as fare evasion. If you somehow manage to do this by accident, you can get the 500 rail credits back from the dedicated machine at a Ticket Office. We can't actually fix this ourselves, but you can just not walk weirdly and you'll be fine.
Rail credits and emeralds are not refundable once purchased.
